  • Yes! Mixtape Singers is an auditioned ensemble committed to musical excellence. But don’t let that intimidate you! We welcome singers from diverse backgrounds and experiences. If you have a passion for harmony, a willingness to learn, and a desire to collaborate at a high level, we’d love to hear you. Auditions are private, friendly and low-pressure, we're here to celebrate your voice.

    Each season brings a fresh mix.

  • We are entering season 2, which starts March 22nd and ends in mid-July. Rehearsals are on Sundays from 1pm-3:30pm, and take place in Metchosin & Langford, with plans to explore alternative venues in the seasons ahead.

  • Yes, Mixtape is a member-supported ensemble, and seasonal fees help cover essential artistic and operational costs.   • Being part of Mixtape means showing up for the music and for each other. Regular rehearsal attendance is essential to maintaining the ensemble’s sound, trust, and momentum.

    Outside of rehearsals, we also expect members to practice independently using materials provided (recordings, scores, etc.) to learn parts and refine musicality.

    We are an off-book ensemble, and there is a set date that members are expected to be off-book by.

    We understand life happens, but overall, a strong level of commitment is required. We strive for high artistic standards, and that’s only possible when everyone is prepared and present. The result? Musical experiences that you can be proud of, and that feel as meaningful as they sound.
